Putting the bottom line on top is the most effective method for writing an informative article. But it is also the least fun method when your background is fiction writing. Skipping the story and stating the point right at the beginning feels so counterintuitive.

Behind every magazine is an idea. Each article is a facet of that idea. Each issue has its own unique facet to the overall theme. Combine issues into a volume, and you'll get a gem. Or a piece of jagged coal. Depends on how good you are at polishing.

Enter, stage right. No, wait, stage left. Or was it through the backdrop curtain? No, I remember now pop up through the trap door in center stage. Grrr, the trap door is stuck! Stupid stage directions. Necessary, but annoying. At least when it comes to screenplays. But how many directions do you put into the script? Or do you leave it to the actors and director to figure out on their own?

Is there nothing sweeter than the melodious flow of poetry? ...chocolate for one. Or honey. Or anything with sugar in it, really. But I digress. The occasionally melodious flow of poetry is like a kraken: sneaky and subversive, until it's too late and the tentacles of free verse suck you down into brine-y oblivion...or something like that.
